Community Manager Role at PingCAP
You will work closely with the development team to ensure that our open-source projects are well-maintained and actively supported, and you will also be responsible for building relationships with key community members and promoting our projects to a wider audience.
Responsibilities:
– Set, plan, and implement social media and communication campaigns and strategies to engage the open-source community and promote our projects.
– Provide engaging text, image, and video content for all social media and professional accounts related to our open-source projects.
– Respond to community members in a timely manner, addressing questions, concerns, and feedback.
– Monitor, track, and report on feedback and online reviews of our open-source projects.
– Organize and manage events (such as meetups, hackathons, and conferences) to boost brand awareness and foster community engagement.
– Coordinate with the development and marketing teams to ensure that our open-source projects are well-maintained and actively supported.
– Build relationships with key community members, including developers, users, and other stakeholders.
– Stay up-to-date with open-source trends and best practices, and identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
Requirements:
– Proven work experience as a community manager or similar role, preferably in the open-source space.
– Experience planning and leading community initiatives, such as events or campaigns.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders.
– Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with the community.
– Hands-on experience with social media management and online marketing.
– Attention to detail, critical-thinker, and problem-solver.
