Social Media Manager for Tanium

Mid-Senior level and requires a lot of experience.

About the role: The Social Media Manager is responsible for Tanium’s social media strategy, managing and growing the company’s online presence and reputation, creating original and curating content, leveraging owned media platforms to accelerate brand relevance, as well as implement programs globally and regionally. The Social Media Manager also plays a key role in representing the Tanium brand persona, culture, and employee advocacy. 

This role is fully remote within the United States.  

What you’ll do: 

  • Drive and own social media strategy, management, and brand voice across Tanium’s owned social channels, including LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, the Tanium blog, Tanium’s online editorial magazine Focal Point, and podcast Let’s Converge.  
  • Partner cross-functionally to create a consistent narrative across all owned channels that includes original and curated content, aligns to marketing campaigns, as well as Tanium’s key messages, announcements, events, and milestones 
  • Manage social media localization efforts, enabling regional field marketing and events teams 
  • Own social media KPIs and measurement, including (but not limited to) audience growth and engagement, web traffic, conversion, customer engagement, and leads
  • Implement social media SEO tactics, aligned with digital team keyword and SEO strategies 
  • Actively monitor Tanium’s social community, ecosystem, and other relevant conversations, pulling out trends, and proactively making recommendations in areas where the company should respond to support the company’s ongoing engagement, online brand reputation, and authentic online presence
  • Own, manage, and grow Tanium’s social media advocacy program among employees 
  • Be the social media strategist for senior executives and subject matter experts, empowering them to market their thought leadership on platforms including LinkedIn and Twitter  

We’re looking for someone with: 

Education:  

  • BA or BS in Marketing, PR, Journalism, Communication, English or equivalent experience 

Experience:  

  • 8+ years of experience in social media, audience engagement, content marketing, editorial, demand generation and/or corporate communications, with a minimum of 2 years managing global social media on behalf of a corporate brand (preferably in enterprise software) 
  • Experience in enterprise cybersecurity, cloud/SaaS or other IT environments a plus 
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, including demonstrated content development for web and social media (samples upon request) 
  • Familiarity and expertise with major social media platforms and forums such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, and blogs, as well as an understanding of regional and cultural variations in usage
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (examples include: Advocacy (formerly Bambu), Oktopost, Sprout Social, Sprinklr etc.)
  • Experience in online reputation management and crisis communications response
  • An understanding of the role of social media in demand generation activities, including a working knowledge of social media SEO strategies
  • Familiarity with a fast-paced content “newsroom” environment, including content creation, curation and distribution using owned, earned, and paid channels
