WhatsCookin’ Is Looking For An Experienced Content Moderator to help create worker-owned content mod team

The ad says two month contract but still worth applying for if you have the experience. The pay is a little low ($15-$20 an hour) but to me it would be worth it to have this on your resume.

They do not have a career page on WhatsCookin’ so you will have to apply on LinkedIn.

About the job

This is a unique opportunity to help build a worker-run team of content moderators.

Requirements:

  • experience with content moderation
  • writing, design, marketing knowledge a plus

Responsibilities:

  • help guide the creation of training materials for content moderation
  • guide making a user interface for content moderation tasks
  • train others in performing content moderation
  • help set up systems for escalation and review as needed

This is a short-term position to help create the training materials and guide the development of a user interface for content moderation tasks, but it may also have long term potential if we are successful in winning client contracts. We have received a small grant to set up the user interface and train the team, using the HUMAN Protocol stack. We have the technical people and some high level advisors, but need someone with hands-on experience.

We are looking for a value-aligned person who believes in bottom-up, work-weighted democratically run enterprises. The content moderators likely will share governance power using the Colony DAO that allows earning of reputation by doing work. We want to create an environment that is safe, empowering and leads to career advancement.

Initially we have a small amount of funds for a 2-month contract, salary depends somewhat on experience and hours available.
